Kosmos 2221 (Russian: Космос 2221 meaning Cosmos 2221) is a Russian Tselina-D missile ELINT satellite which was launched in 1992.

Launch

Kosmos 2221 was launched from Site 32/2 at Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia, which is about 500 miles north of Moscow. A Tsyklon-3 carrier rocket was used to perform the launch, which took place at 04:10 UTC on 24 November 1992. It subsequently received its Kosmos designation, and the international designator 1992-080A. The United States Space Command assigned it the Satellite Catalog Number 22236.
