Background

The train covers the 579.8 kilometres (360.3 mi) journey in about 13 hours 25 minutes. It is an important train link serving people along the coastal areas of Maharashtra and Goa. Its average speed is 49 kilometres per hour (30 mph). The KJM WDP4B or WDP4 loco is in charge of the train. This train shares its rake with Mandovi Express.

Traction

As the route is not completely electrified, a Hubli based WDP-4 or WDG-4 locomotive haul the train from end to end.
