Kodumuru is located at 15.6833°N 77.7833°E / 15.6833; 77.7833. It has an average elevation of 342 meters (1125 feet). Gadwal Sarees are manufactured in Kodumuru. Recently the Indian Government has proposed to set up a handloom park in Kodumuru to save weavers from starvation and in the process help the survival of Gadwal sarees. - Kodumur people celebrates Chowdamma Jatara in the starting week or second week of February every year. People invites all of their relatives and celebrates with them. It is a belief that the married life will be good if the newly married man (groom) gives hand to move the ratha(teru). Teru Bajar is the place where the Chowdamma temple is located. There will be some other cultural activities and sports conducted by Kodumur youth clubs during this festival.
