Kishore Dang (born 1 July 1958) is an Indian director. He has had a 30-year long career in TV Shows Production & Film Making. Dang was also The Member of the Jury of the 53rd National Film Awards by the Government of India. Dang has been associated with Foreign films such as Gandhi, The Far Pavilions, Kim, Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy, The Deceivers, The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, In Custody and The Jungle Book. He has been associated with the Theatre Group “Ank” for four years that was led by Mr. Dinesh Thakur. His famous shows include Maila Aanchal, Nooriee, Uttarkatha, Humsafar The Train, Detective Karan and Faujji The Iron Man. He has also directed a documentary film called Kab Tak that participated in The Mumbai International Film Festival 2012 Mumbai International Film Festival 2012. Other films include Aakhri Dastak - a film made for the Indian Army.

Beginning

Dang left home when he was 19 years old to make his dream come true. Life gave him an opportunity to do so, when he met Mr. Suresh Jindal (the Producer of Rajnigandha, Katha and Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Co-Producer of Such A Long Journey & Associate Producer of Gandhi). He introduced Dang to Mr. Charles Torbett, the Property Master of Gandhi. Mr. Torbett made him the assistant of Mr. Tony Teiger who was the stand-by prop man of Gandhi.

Major Work

Kishore Dang, now a director, started out by contributing in Foreign Films including Gandhi, The Far Pavilions, Kim, Lord Mountbatten, The Deceivers, The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, In Custody and The Jungle Book. Then, he produced his first ever TV show, Maila Aanchal that aired on DD National in 1990. It was based on a Novel written by Phanishwar Nath Renu. Dang received the NIFA Award for the Best Show from The Honourable Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting for Maila Aanchal. Then he directed many other serials such as Nooriee, Uttarkatha, Humsafar The Train, Detective Karan and #REDIRECT Faujji...The Iron Man. Dang received awards for the Best T.V. Show, Karan The Detective, in 2005 & in 2007 respectively. He has also acted in a serial, Space City Sigma.

Kishore Dang has also made Documentary Films. Some of those are: Sugalis/Lambadis, The Yaravas Of Coorg and Kab-Tak. Kab-Tak (35mm Cinemascope Duration 2 Minutes) is a short, competition film, that participated in The Mumbai International Film Festival 2012. Dang has also directed a short movie called Aakhri Dastak for and in respect of the Indian Army.
