It was one of the famous Rivermaya songs on which the group's original frontman Bamboo Mañalac sings lead vocals. This song is certainly radio-friendly. It was the first Rivermaya single after original guitarist Perf de Castro left. And the first guitar solo by Rico Blanco. The song starts with a guitar riff played and the chords on the intro were: D, E minor, A and G. The beat became faster on the chorus. After its second chorus, the song features a guitar solo. David Gonzales of Allmusic describes "Kisapmata" as 'pleasant and tuneful' and 'is less adventurous than much of the other material on Trip'.
