A new interaction with a natural medium, where the evolution of human creativity can be expressed and appreciated by all.

also known as: Tunnel Flying, Human Body Flight, Human Kinetic Flight, BodyFlight or Indoor-Skydiving

Techniques

Kinetic Flying can incorporate any or all the following flying techniques:

  • Relative Work (RW)/Belly Flying
  • Free Style
  • Vertical RW
  • Dynamic Flying
  • Back Flying
  • Sit flying
  • Head-down flying
  • Methods

Kinetic Flying in a Vertical Wind Tunnel (Skydiving Simulator) is possible due to production of a fast airflow (up to 295 km/h ~ 180 mph) generated by a propeller or fan; simulating the speeds necessary to achieve flight. Vertical Wind Tunnels is the preferred and safest method for practicing and enjoying Kinetic Flying. Vertical Wind Tunnel Manufacturers:

  • Aerodium Technologies
  • Indoor Skydiving Germany
  • Magic Tree
  • SkyVenture/iFly
  • Kinetic Flying in Skydiving is achieved through jumping out of an aircraft (with a skydiving rig) from altitudes exceeding 3,000 ft (915m) in order to achieve free-fall speeds ranging from 120 mph-165 mph where human kinetic flight is achieved.

Kinetic Flying performances. AERODIUM Technologies has a division (Aerodium Events) of Kinetic Flying professional acrobats performing on mobile and stationary vertical wind tunnels all over the world.
