Kieran Doherty is an Irish writer and TV format creator based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He co-created the international TV entertainment formats Secret Fortune and Take the Money and Run as part of a creative partnership with Matthew Worthy, while working for UK independent production company Wild Rover Productions. In 2014 Kieran Doherty & Matthew Worthy launched the production company Stellify Media as a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television. Doherty currently serves as PACT director for Northern Ireland. He is also a member of the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland committee. Doherty is one of the founding members of the Media Therapy Group, the largest media networking group in Ireland.

Stellify Media

In 2014 Kieran Doherty and Matthew Worthy launched the production company Stellify Media as a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television. They have offices in Belfast and London. Doherty and Worthy jointly executive produce all of Stellify Medias content. Their Shows include:

Can't Touch This

Can't Touch This a BBC television game show that aired on BBC One from 26 March to 8 October 2016. Produced by Stellify Media It was hosted by Zoë Ball and Ashley Banjo and was a huge physical action game show which started with a human catapult and ended with a terrifying two-storey jump for a car.

In Solitary

Executive produced by Kieran Doherty and Matthew Worthy, In Solitary is a Channel 5 show which sees contestants attempting to survive five days and nights in solitary confinement.

Beauty Queen and Single

Beauty Queen and Single aired in 2017 on BBC One. In this unique dating show, beauty queens who have had no luck with love go on a series of dates to find Mr. Right. However, in a dramatic make-under they dare to go bare and remove all make-up to see if they can find a connection that is more than skin deep.

Blind Date

Blind Date aired on the 17th June 2017 on Channel 5 in its usual Saturday night slot produced by Stellify Media and So Television. Hosted by the amazing Paul O’Grady, the world’s greatest dating show is back and ready for the 21st century. In each show two lucky singletons get to choose between three potential dates each - but they have no idea what these dates look like. Will it be love at first sight? Or will they not be able to stand the sight of each other?

Stellify Media have also produced an Irish version of the hit show, hosted by IFTA Award winning comedian Al Porter. Secret Fortune

In 2008 Doherty and Worthy created the high-stakes quiz-show Secret Fortune.

In 2010 the UK network broadcaster BBC commissioned a nine-part series of Secret Fortune for Saturday night BBC One. This series was broadcast in February 2011 – with viewing figures reaching over 7 million. A second series was commissioned after just four episodes – and was filmed in May/June 2011.

In 2011 US network broadcaster CBS commissioned a pilot of Secret Fortune – co-produced by Wild Rover Productions and Nigel Lythgoe, who is an Executive Producer of American Idol.

The David Meade Project

In 2010 Worthy and Doherty created The David Meade Project, a four-part series featuring mentalist David Meade for BBC NI. It aired in January 2011. A second series of six episodes was commissioned by BBC NI in 2011 and will air in Autumn 2011. Both series are Executive Produced by Doherty.

Take the Money and Run

In 2007 Doherty and Worthy created the high-stakes reality show Take the Money and Run. A pilot was commissioned in by UK network broadcaster BBC in 2008.

In 2010 it was announced that Take the Money and Run received a six-episode order for show production by ABC with Jerry Bruckheimer as executive producer along with Amazing Race creators Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri. This series will be broadcast in August 2011.

Find Me The Funny

In 2008 Doherty and Worthy created the stand-up reality competition Find Me The Funny. A six-part series was broadcast by BBC One NI in 2009.

The Big Bumper Science Quiz

In 2006 Doherty co-created and co-wrote the live, interactive TV special The Big Bumper Science Quiz. It aired on BBC One NI on 11 January 2006.

The Sparticle Mystery

Doherty was commissioned to write an episode for The Sparticle Mystery in 2015 titled 'The Teen Father'.

The Clandestine

Doherty wrote 13 episode of The Clandestine between 2012 and 2013.

The Pajanimals

Doherty was commissioned to write 4 episodes of the Jim Henson Workshop format Pajanaimals. Which aired on the US cable channel Sprout in 2011.

Big City Park

Doherty was also commissioned to write 5 episodes of Big City Park, a Sixteen South production for CBeebies which aired in August 2010. Big City Park was awarded a CINE Golden Eagle award in 2011.

Sesame Tree

Doherty wrote five episodes for series one and two of the children's TV show Sesame Tree, a Sesame Workshop and Sixteen South production. The first episode aired on 5 April 2008. The series went on to win the international CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2009 and 2011.

Doherty was re-commissed to write a further 4 episodes of the second series of Sesame Tree for CBeebies. This series aired in November 2010.

The Ulster Way / Teethgrinder

Doherty began his writing career in radio, writing two series of The Ulster Way for BBC Radio Ulster. He then moved into television, contributing material to the BBC One NI sketch show Teethgrinder.
