Adaptive Learning Platform (ALP)
Adaptive Learning platform is a big data/machine learning platform that combines data from multiple learning contexts (digital & physical) and dynamically adjust gameplay as learners engage to help you deliver a personalized learning experience for each child.
A Learner-Centric Platform: Because it was designed to incorporate data from a range of sources, ALP supports personalized learning in any domain and at any age level to provide the optimal learning experience for your users. These data are used to create an adaptive learning environment, generate personalized insights and activity suggestions for each learner and their parents, and update the learner’s psychometric profile to provide a meaningful picture of their learning journey.
A Massively Scalable Infrastructure: ALP includes a massively scalable cloud-based psychometric engine; a real-time recommendation engine; and a full-featured client SDK that supports local adaptivity, even when the client is offline. ALP uses cutting-edge messaging protocols and parallel distributed computation to achieve near-time asynchronous feedback between client and server, and it leverages powerful machine learning techniques to find and capitalize upon emergent patterns across all learners.
Apps and Leo’s Pad
The company’s apps are created with the guidance of professional educators, including two Stanford University Professors of Education, Dan Schwartz and Ed Haertel.
Kidaptive launched its first app, Leo’s Pad, in December 2012. The app is designed for preschool-aged children and is organized like a TV series, consisting of multiple “appisodes.” The series stars Leonardo da Vinci as a child, as well as his young friends Galileo Galilei, Marie Curie, and Confucius.
The app combines education and entertainment as users are engaged by the characters and participate in a curriculum that integrates physics, math, logic, letters, and art. The activities help develop cognitive skills including executive function and impulse control.
Parent’s Pad
Leo’s Pad features a function called Parent's Pad, which allows parents to monitor their child’s progress and identify areas of cognitive and non-cognitive development that might need more attention. The feature also gives parents tips on how to work on specific areas that their child is struggling with, such as color or shape recognition.
Awards and recognition
Kidaptive founders Arena and Gunsagar have presented twice (Spring 2012 and Winter 2013) at Stanford’s student startup accelerator StartX.
