Khon Kaen Wittayayon School (Thai: โรงเรียนขอนแก่นวิทยายน) is a public school located in downtown Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. It admits secondary students (mathayom 1–6, equivalent to grades 7–12). Founded in 1897 as a boys' school for Khon Kaen Province, it then became the first coeducational school in Khon Kaen. The school's former names were "Khon Kaen (boys') School" and "That Wittayakhan Temple School". The first school principal was Mr. Tub Chimma.

Campus

Khon Kaen Wittayayon School is located at 58 Klangmuang Rd., Muang District, Khon Kaen Province. The school occupies 22 rai 2 ngarn between Klangmuang and Na-muang Roads, and shares borders with Bank of Thailand, Northeastern Region and Kaen-inn Hotel. It's surrounded by many government places e.g. Muang Khon Kaen Police Station, Khon Kaen Post office, Khon Kaen Municipal Market, etc.

The school has eighteen buildings, eleven of which hold classrooms. Each of which is located separately in the school area, but connected from Building 9 through the way to Building 5. The oldest building, Building 1, was built in 1978 when Mr. Sanitpong Nuanmanee hold the Director's office. It's now the building for Department of Science. Construction of Buildings 2 and 3 followed in 1980 to accommodate the school's growth. These 3 buildings are considered as the main buildings in the year that Khon Kaen Wittayayon School came to its peak.

To celebrate her soon 100th anniversary. The school board decided to build the new building as the 7th building, now considered as the biggest building of the school.

The other classroom buildings are Building 4, Building 6, Building 8, Building 9. Other buildings include the 85th Anniversary building which is now the library, auditorium, Agricultural building, Public Relations building, Academic Resources building, and the shrines.

Curriculum

The school follows the national Curriculum of Basic Education, BE 2544 (2001 CE), providing six years of secondary education, Mathayom 1–6. Subjects are grouped into eight basic subject areas, namely Thai language, mathematics, science, social studies, religion and culture, health and physical education, arts, vocations and technology, and foreign languages.
