Jones was born Brian Ouko Robert on the 12th of June 1990 in one of Kenya's Eastland area, which is considered to be one of the dangerous places to live in Kenya. Living in Kayole (which is also known as Kayole 1960) enabled him to know the vices that are usually bombarded and instigated while in the ghetto. Music career

In 2009, Jones who is also known to many as Baba Yao won the Channel O Emcee Africa competition at the age of 19. Since then he has worked with the Kenyan music A-listers including Xtatic, Stella Mwangi,Rabbit, Kristoff, Abbas Kubaff, Chiwawa, Christine Apondi, The Mith of Klear Kut, Kaytrixx, Dj Creme Dela Creme, and Ulopa Ngoma.

His freestyling style has been described as "different, unique and admirable".
