Khaled Ahmed AlSaleh (born 27 October 1953) is a consultant physician in Clinical and Radiation Oncology at Kuwait Cancer Control Center. He is also Editor of the online The Gulf Journal of Oncology (GJO) ( http://www.gffcc.org/journal/ ).

AlSaleh was born in Kuwait Almirqab. He obtained his M.B.B, Ch. at Alexandria on 14 February 1981, and his Board Certificate in Radiotherapy & Oncology from the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute of Oncology, Warsaw, Poland, in November 1992. He is writing articles for AlWatan Newspaper, Kuwait, published every Monday.
Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al-Saleh has won a Kuwait's Prize for Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases and diabetes granted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region in recognition of his efforts in this area. Al-Saleh said in a press statement "This honoring from the World Health Organization is an honor for every Kuwaiti citizen and comes as a result of the large contribution and unlimited support extended by His Highness the Amir and the Government of Kuwait for talented persons. He expressed his appreciation and thanks to all those who have been behind his success throughout his career in order to promote health awareness and raise the name of Kuwait high in regional and global forums." The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has submitted the nomination of Al-Saleh to receive this award for his contribution in the field of cancer diseases.

A total of 28 years in the field of oncology specializing in Radiation Oncology. Author of more than 30 scientific papers presented to international fora and published in medical journals.

Achievements
- As a cancer advocate, successfully initiated the first meeting to discuss the union of cancer associations under one umbrella organization in the Gulf region in 2001. This led to the formation of the Arab Union Against Cancer in March 29, 2002 involving 12 organizations in the GCC and Yemen. Elected as General Secretary of the federation, now called Gulf Federation for Cancer Control (GFFCC) since 2003;
- As General Secretary of the GFFCC, had established partnership with WHO-EMRO to support region-wide cancer campaigns, trainings and programs. At the international level, maintained active membership with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and chaired the TNM Committee for the adoption of a unified cancer staging system in the gulf region;
- Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Gulf Journal of Oncology (ISSN No. 2978-2101) – one of the few medical journals in the Arab region selected by the U.S. National Library of Medicine to be indexed at the PubMed/MedLine database;
- As Vice-President of the Cancer Aware Nation (CAN) Campaign and General Secretary of Kuwait Society for Smoking and Cancer Prevention, spearheaded the organization of cancer exhibits, trainings and workshops on breast cancer screening and was always at the forefront in promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports and exercise in the State of Kuwait. On October 2010, the first mobile mammography unit in Kuwait was inaugurated through the efforts of CAN and KSSCP;
- As Asst. General Secretary of the Arab Federation for Drug Abuse Prevention, lead the campaigns against illegal drugs in Kuwait and wrote a booklet entitled “Drug is Dangerous” in Arabic to explain the dangers of drug use, its effects to pregnant mothers and their babies and the related teachings of Islam against drug use.
- As early as 1994, had proposed for the establishment of the first palliative center in Kuwait and in the gulf. With the support of the International Islamic Charity Fund and Ministry of Health of Kuwait, the 92-bed Palliative Healthcare Center was completed in 2009 and inaugurated on May 4, 2011. Designated as Head of the Preparation Committee as the center started admitting patients in 2011;
- Initiated the establishment of the Al-Essra’a Oncology Centre in Nablus, Palestine. In 2001, proposed to build the center with the support of the Palestinian Authority and the Islamic Charity Fund in Kuwait. It was completed in 2008 and the care and management of the center was turned-over to El Ahli Success University in Nables City for its operation.
