His playing career saw him with spells at Airdrie F.C, St Mirren, Queens Park , and finishing at Renfrew.
His coaching career saw him work with Cardiff City, Hamilton Academical (two spells) Falkirk and Fleetwood Town In May 2016 he was appointed Manager of Scottish Junior (non-league) side Newmains in the West of Scotland League Central District Second Division.
