Ketto is an online fundraising website to raise funds for social(NGOs/Non-Profits/Charities), creative(Movies/Music/Theatre/Fashion/Technology) and personal(Health/Education/Travel) causes from a large number of people who share your passion or concern and is based in Mumbai, India. It was founded on 15 August 2012 by Varun Sheth and film and theatre actor Kunal Kapoor. In its first year, Ketto raised INR 4.5 million for 18 campaigns. Their causes ranged from education to women’s empowerment.

Campaigns

Among Ketto's successful campaigns is Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), an NGO that supports Indian athletes. It raised INR 1 million and sent athlete Shiva Keshavan to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In 2014, Ketto ran another high-profile campaign with Olympic Gold Quest to raise funds for four more athletes competing in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland and the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, Korea. Shweta Katti, daughter of a commercial sex worker in Kamathipura, the red-light district of Mumbai raised more than INR 600,000 to supplement her scholarship to Bard College in New York. Ketto successfully ran a campaign for YUWA India Trust, raising over INR 5 million to send a football team composed of underprivileged girls from Jharkhand to USA Cup in 2014. The campaign was partnered by Star Sports.

Funding

In November 2013, Ketto raised USD 150,000 angel investments from Club ah!, a network of investors and part of ah! Ventures, and not-for-profit angel network Calcutta Angels. Investors from ah! Impact, the impact investing arm of ah! Ventures, also participated in the deal.
