Kent lao interview
Energen Pilipinas

Lao joined Energen Pilipinas, men's national under-18 basketball team, on his second year in college instead of playing in the UAAP Season 75. He competed in the 2012 SEABA Under-18 Championship in Singapore and in the 2012 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship in Mongolia. He became the fourth highest scorer of the team.
Fifth season
In his last season with the Tigers, Lao played a crucial role as a veteran. With new head coach, Boy Sablan, the Tigers finished the first round of Season 79 on the sixth place, with a 2-5 win-loss record. On the first-round game with the Adamson Falcons, Lao lead the team with his season-high 13 points and 8 rebounds. He played on an average of 24 minutes per game.
Off-season tilts
In the 2014 PBA D-League Draft, Lao was the first pick of Tanduay Light in the sixth round. He eventually suited up for Bread Story-Lyceum, where the then UST Growling Tiger head coach Bong Dela Cruz was an assistant coach.
