Early life and education
Whitworth was born, Kayna Logan Whitworth, on July 4, 1982, in Aurora, Colorado, to parents Rocky and Mary Whitworth, where she was raised with her younger brother, Kellen. She was a 2001 Grandview High School graduate, where she went on from there to Colorado State University, obtaining her baccalaureate in communication and media studies, in 2005.
Career
She started her journalism career at KTVZ in Bend, Oregon as a reporter then an anchor, before moving on to become a reporter and anchor at KBOI-TV located in Boise, Idaho. Her career lead her to Tucson, Arizona, where she became an anchor at KOLD-TV, then she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to WHDH in December 2012 as a weekday morning anchor. This caught the attention of ABC News, who hired her in 2015, to be a Los Angeles, California-based correspondent, for the network.
Personal life
She started dating sports reporter for WHDH, Rhett Lewis, while they were working in Boston, Massachusetts. He would take a job, at the NFL Network, where it is based in Los Angeles. The couple were married on May 15, 2015, in a ceremony located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
