Katherine Keating (born September 5, 1981) is a Political Advisor, Political Activist, Presenter and Executive Producer. She is the daughter of former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating.

Katherine has been actively involved in Australia politics, working in the office of the NSW Premier, Bob Carr, from the age of 19. Since moving to New York in 2010, Katherine launched a production company; Keating Company, that produces online content, documentary and film, with a focus on social impact. Katherine is the Executive Producer of One on One; an online interview series that discusses current affairs and is a Presenter and Producer for VICE Media.

Katherine is a Contributing Editor to The World Post; a joint venture between The Huffington Post and the Berggruen Institute on Governance. She has conducted interviews with big thinkers like Britain's former Prime Minister; Tony Blair and Greece’s former Prime Minister George Papandreou for the World Post.

Early life and education

Born in Australia, Katherine Keating is one of the four children of former Prime Minister of Australia; the Honourable Paul Keating and Annita van Iersel. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of New South Wales majoring in Philosophy, Politics and International Relations.

Professional life

Katherine Keating, affectionately known as “KK” to her friends and the Australian media, worked as a policy advisor to the Government of New South Wales, including a period in the office of former Labor Premier; Bob Carr. She actually began working in government at the age of 19.

In 2006, Katherine founded Keating Company; a NY based Production Company that produces online content, documentary and film. She has been the Director of Keating Consulting till date. In her capacity as the director, she has advised international corporations, governments, think tanks and not-for-profit organizations.

Katherine published a paper titled “The National Governance of the Non-Profit Sector,” which was presented and tabled to the Australian Government Senate Standing Committee on Economics: Inquiry into the Disclosure Regimes for Charities and Not-For-Profit Organizations. In 2006, Katherine Keating was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in recognition of her work in the not-for-profit sector.
