Katarrama

Katarrama is a band formed in 1999 in Barcelona (Catalonia). They practice radical metal with tracks sung in both Spanish and Catalan, with a strong political edge.

The band was founded with Oriol Iglesias (drums), Albert Iglesias (guitar), Lluís Sendra (vocals), Alex Centeno(guitars), Moi Barber (bass) recording a first demo which was already included a version of one of her biggest flagship 41 bales, which speaks of the racial killing Amadou Diallo suffered at the hands of the U.S. police. This song is included in the second volume of the recompilation album Cultura de Resistencia

With the departure of Alex and Moi, bassist Albert Godayol arrives who joins the group and embody their first studio album of the same name as the group Katarrama Stuma (2002) edited by the record label El Lokal and available in Enderrock. The Katarrama Stuma lyrics are in Viasona

In 2005 they recorded their second studio album En silenci... (Contra Records - Bé Negre) with most tracks sung in Catalan and a more sophisticated sound. This new work was recorded, mixed and produced by David Rosell (Brams, Mesclat, Dept., Aramateix) in the studio Can Pardaler in Taradell. Mastering was by Michael Schwabbe at Monoposto studio in Düsseldorf. Collaborate on disc Xato trombonist (Dr. Calypso), singer Pau Llonch (At-versaris), poet Jordi Bilbeny, the DJ Txeff Pills and David Rosell. There are some album reviews on local magazines. In 2006 the singer Lluís Sendra left the group to meet Reclam, its draft Management, being replaced by Carles Angla. Carles Angla, also known as Xarly, came loaded with a bunch of letters, which helped shape the third studio album Kada verS (2009), recorded, mixed and produced by David Rosell the same way as the previous album. This time, disc collaborations are trombonist Xato, David Rosell himself on vocals, trumpet, guitars, Joan Sanchez on guitars and Jordi Bilbeny in the poem on the back of the disc. The album includes a version of the song “Jo hi sóc si tu vols ser-hi” by the Catalan singer-songwriter and musician Lluís Llach. There are some album reviews on local magazines and on the net. The Kada verS lyrics are, also, in Viasona, as well as radio and TV interviews.

In the late 2009, Katarrama recorded his first promotional videoclip for the song 'No és pessimisme'.

In early 2010, Katarrama presented his live Kada verS show at Avinyó, video recorded by Psicovisio, and Barcelona. At this time find themselves immersed in local, preparing to return to direct new scenes tour. Since its formation, have performed at every corner where they have left, playing in Catalonia, Euskadi and Ireland.
