Katamarayudu is an upcoming Telugu language action film directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani which features Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. It is partly inspired from Tamil blockbuster movie Veeram starring Ajith Kumar and Tamannaah.

Production
After the release of his previous film Sardaar Gabbar Singh (2016), Pawan announced that he would remake Tamil film Veeram (2014) in Telugu with S. J. Surya as a director, despite Tamil film was already dubbed and released in Telugu as Veerudokkade. The title of the film was announced as Katamarayudu named after the song sung by Pawan from the film Attarintiki Daredi (2013). However in a sudden turn of events, Suryah left the project to concentrate on acting assignments as he was the main vilain of upcoming móvie, Sambhavami and he was replaced by Kishore Kumar Pardasany collaborating with Pawan for second time after Gopala Gopala (2015) while Soundarrajan who was the cinematographer was replaced by Prasad Murella. The film began its shoot on 24 September in Secunderabad.
Marketing
The first look poster of the film was unveiled on 29 October 2016, on the eve of Diwali. Makers released the teaser on 4 February at 4:00 pm. The teaser has received 1 million views in 2 hours, surpassing the previous Khaidi no 150 record of 3 hrs and became the fastest Telugu film to meet this mile stone. It also got 5M + views within 57 hours. It is the first Telugu movie teaser and 5th South Indian film teaser to get 100k likes in YouTube. It is also the first Telugu Video to get 200k likes in YouTube. The first song MIRA MIRA MEESAM was released on 3rd March in Youtube around 5pm and got 100k Likes in just less than 4 hours and now holds the record of most like lyrical video in South India surpassing 117k likes of Neruppu Da of Kabali in 5 Hours.The Second song from the film lage lage is set to release on 9th march at 4:00PM
