His father was a great football player (Baťany - Partizánske) and gave his son Karol great technical foundations. Karol was a player with high football intelligence, always making up different situations on the football field. His football thinking was very unpredictable and he had a great left foot. Great constructor and passer, on which will always remember his teammate from ŠK Slovan Bratislava Ján Čapkovič. In 1963 came as junior to ŠK Slovan Bratislava and till spring 1975, when he left to Prievidza on his account was 238 Premier league matches and 68 goals. For national team of Czechoslovakia had played 27 matches and scored 11 goals.
