Karnit Flug

Karnit Flug (Hebrew: קרנית פלוג‎‎; born January 9, 1955) is a Polish-born Israeli economist. She has held the position of governor of the Central Bank of Israel since November 2013. She is the first female governor of the Bank of Israel.

Early life

She obtained her master's degree in economics at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1980, and received a PhD in economics at Columbia University in New York City in 1985.
