Karl Schelenz (born February 6, 1890 in Berlin; died February 7, 1956) was a German sport teacher. He is famous as "father" of modern Handball.

Life
Schelenz worked as a sport teacher in Berlin and in Flensburg. As author her wrote books over the modern sportgame Handball and created in 1920 modern rules of that game. In 1916 an in 1917, he was Geman champion in long jump. In he was third in german championship in high jump. Schelenz was member of German sportteam Berliner Turner-Verein von 1850 e. V. in Berlin.
