Australian chef, restaurateur and writer Karen Martini joins us
Early life

Martini began cooking at a young age. At 15 she undertook work experience including under veteran French-Australian chef Jacques Reymond, before learning classical skills from Tansy Good at her eponymous restaurant in Melbourne. Later during the ninetines, Martini held positions at Haskin's and the Kent Hotel, before Melbourne Wine Room in St Kilda's George Hotel.
Food presentations

Martini was a featured chef alongside Stephanie Alexander at a major Slow Food Dinner in Turin, Italy in 1998 and has been a key presenter at the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. She has also contributed several articles to The Weekend Australian.
Editorial

In August 2004, Martini became Food Editor of Sunday Life, The Sun-Herald and Sunday Age's magazine published weekly in Sydney and Melbourne.
Television and media
She is best known for her television role as food chef on Better Homes and Gardens and Judge on My Kitchen Rules (TV series). In 2005 Martini was the resident chef on LifeStyle Cafe, a 13-part series on the LifeStyle Channel.
Author
In June 2006 Martini released her first cookbook, Where The Heart Is, a collection of recipes with over 140 simple ways to enjoy creating, combining and consuming food.
Martini describes her food as "an expression of my heritage, a product of my curiosity and the result of my hunger".
