Kansas state school for the blind transition program
Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) is a fully accredited public high school located in Kansas City, Kansas, USA, serving students in grades Pre-K through 12. The school was established in 1867. It is located on 10 acres (40,000 m2) located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. It opened its doors on September 7, 1868.

History
Commissioners were appointed to locate a State Asylum for the Blind in 1864 and the city of Wyandotte (now part of Kansas City, Kansas) provided 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land. The Kansas Legislature appropriated $20,000 to erect the building in 1867 and it was opened September 7, 1868.
