The former municipal council under the chairmanship of Shri. Jamal Manakkadan and the health chairman (member of Mini-Townhall ward) Shri. T.S Aboobaker sanctioned Rs. 1.78 Crores for the renovation of Kanagrappady Mini-town hall in 2013. The renovated Mini-town hall inaugurated on 31 July 2014 and opened for the public in August 2014 . Kangarappady Mini-Town Hall is located 500mtrs away from Kangarapady Junction. Kangarappady was the bottle neck of Edappally- Pukkattupady road some months back before the Govt of Kerala provided 7 crores for the development of the kangarapady Junction. Government also allowed 7.88 crores for the renovation of Edappally-Pukkattupady Road which is a part of Edappally - Muvattupuzha road in July 2014. Former Minister for Public Works Shri. V K Ebrahim Kunju is the MLA of Kangarappady Region.
Current Municipal Vice Chairman of Kalamassery Municipality Mr. T.S Aboobaker belongs to Kangarappady region and he is the councillor of this region for the last 3 decades. Kangarappady is the only locality which owns a Govt Ayurvedic Hospital in the Municipality Limits. Kangarappady is the fastest developing town in Kalamassery Municipality. The Municipality has new plans for the overall development of the Kangarappady region to make it as major attraction of the municipality.
