Kamensky District (Russian: Ка́менский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the north of the krai. The area of the district is 3,621 square kilometers (1,398 sq mi). Its administrative center is town of Kamen-na-Obi (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 12,025 (2010 Census); 16,600 (2002 Census); 16,977 (1989 Census).

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, Kamensky District is one of the fifty-nine in the krai. The town of Kamen-na-Obi serves as its administrative center, despite being incorporated separately as a town of krai significance—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.

As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Kamensky Municipal District. The town of krai significance of Kamen-na-Obi is incorporated separately from the district as Kamen-na-Obi Urban Okrug.
