Kalain is a town in the Cachar district of Assam, India. It is 28 kilometres (17 mi) from the district headquarters, Silchar, and is called the "Gateway of the Barak Valley." Kalain has got wonderful landscapes and considerable tea gardens around it.

Culture & languages: The people mostly communicate in Sylheti but all major and minor groups of North-Eastern languages are well spoken among the several groups.

The most common thing that attracts the visitors is the unity among people there and friendly nature among people.

Kalain is 300 kilometres (190 mi) east of Guwahati and 190km from Shillong. It is the main town in the Katigorah (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in Assam.
