Kakarlapalli/Kakarlapally is a village in Khammam district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The name has been derived from the great ancestor kingdom of Telangana region called "Kakatiya".

The main highway that connects Rajmandri (Raja Mahendri) and Khammam passes through the nearest and adjacent town, Sathupally, which is one mile away from this village. From Hyderabad, you get TSRTC (Local transport) buses to Sathupally. From Vijayawada: APSRTC buses run to Sathypally.

Temples

The main temple is Shiva Temple. Other temples include Ganesha, Kaartikeya, Veera Raghava, Krishna, Hanuman, Rama and Muthyalamma, where all the puja vidhis are performed year long.

The village was formerly a site of pilgrimage with Koneru (Devine Tank) in the middle of the village. Nandi Vigrahas have been found all along the village.

Population and language

The village population is about 8000. The language is Telugu, with some Urdu as one of the villages was ruled by Urdu kings of Hyderabad Samstan.

The main livelihood for the people is farming. The main crops are paddy, sugarcane and maize, with mango gardens surrounding the village.

Kakarla is surrounded by three tanks (called cheruyu in Telugu). Once the main tank fills with water, the crop harvest is guaranteed for that crop season.

Elevation

The village is well elevated with respect to the neighboring villages. On average it is 12 meters above the surrounding villages and landscape. This protects the village from floods.

Schools

There are three schools in the village. The highest level of school is 10th/SSC. The nearby town is Sathupalli which is one mile away.
