History

Kakaraparthi Bhavanarayana College is truly a dream come true for many, especially for those who are residing in the old town of Vijayawada. This college was established by Sri. Kakaraparthi Bhavanarayana Sresti. Business magnets Sri Vusirika Jagan Mohan Rao, Sri Koppuravuri Satyanarayana and a host of others also came forward to start the college. The foundation stone of the college was laid on 6 November 1964 by Sri Kasu Brahmanada Reddy, then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The college was constructed on a sprawling 9.6 acres of land of the S.K.P.V.V. Hindu high Schools's Committee. It commenced functioning fully ever since June 1965. The college had a beginning with 220 students and a devoted staff of just fifteen under the visionary leadership of the founder Principal Sri. S. Sundaram.

Institution

The infrastructures of the college is admirable. The administrative block has spacious rooms for the Principal, Vice Principal and the Management. Classes for Intermediate and degree are conducted in 36 well furnished and well maintained classrooms. Every department has its own staff room. All the laboratories are well equipped. The college has a state of the art library worth Rs. 10 lakhs with over 37000 volumes. It has a reading room and also a Digital Library with over 12000 e-books. The college is embellished with expensive playgrounds and an Indoor stadium. Separate rooms are provided for the organization of NCC, NSS and GYMNASIUM. The college is also endowed with an elegantly designed open-air theatre, 'Kalaniketan' with an open gallery and a seating capacity of 2500, which is one of the spectacular features of the college.
