Plot summary

The Sheriff informs Abby that Kelly committed suicide. Abby doesn't believe that Kelly killed herself, but doesn't tell her dad that she saw J.D. at Kelly's house the night of her death. She goes to find J.D. to tell him about Kelly, and when he doesn't react to the news, she becomes suspicious.

When Shane finds out about Kelly's death, he immediately suspects J.D. and sets out to settle the score. As J.D. walks alone down a country road, Shane runs him over with his truck, abducts him and strings him up at his place. When Abby goes in search of Shane, she finds J.D. in his barn. She tells Shane that Kelly was murdered, not by J.D. but by Wakefield. Sheriff Mills arrives and saves Abby and J.D., arresting Shane.

At The Candlewick, Henry discovers that Hunter is staying at a nearby hotel. Pretending to be Hunter, Henry sends a note to Trish to meet him in a room at the Inn. Trish approaches the door, but changes her mind and leaves. Inside, Henry smiles, knowing that she has chosen him over Hunter.

Knowing that he has lost Trish to Henry, Hunter tells Mr. Wellington that he won't tell Trish that her father brought him to the island to break up her engagement to Henry if Mr. Wellington pays him $50,000. Mr Wellington agrees, and Hunter prepares to leave the Island. On a boat, Hunter finds a satchel full of money, but before he can do anything about it, the engine dies. Trying to fix it, Hunter opens the compartment housing the engine, and triggers a booby trapped shotgun that shoots his face off.

Death

  • Hunter Jennings: After attempting to escape on his speedboat, the engine dies out and Hunter opens the lid to the engine only to discover it booby-trapped by a triggered shotgun hidden inside. The shotgun automatically goes ka-blam in his face, blowing it off.
