Contents

KFMA

Originally, 96.3 FM was KFMA broadcasting Modern Rock music programming on 93.7 FM.

When Circle S gave up the call letters a broadcaster in Tucson took them, partially because of the buzz KFMA had created before leaving the air.

KMEO

In 1993, the format was changed to Easy Listening along with a change of call letters to KMEO (Cameo). In a way KMEO-FM was filling a void left when KMEO AM in Phoenix left the air a few months before.

KBSZ

In 1995, the format was changed to new-age music along with a change of call letters to KBSZ. The station was known as “The Breeze”.

In addition to playing new-age music KBSZ sponsored new-age concerts in Phoenix. It was the low audience turnout of the last concert and declining ad sales that forced Circle S to abandon the new-age format.

It was during this time KBSZ switched from 93.7 to 94.1 and increased power.

KSWG

In July 1996, it adopted its current format, Classic Country as KSWG. In 2006, the station started using a Phoenix translator station on 96.3 to be heard throughout Phoenix metro. Years later they'd change frequencies to that dial position of 96.3 FM.

KSWG is still on-the-air in this format and is available worldwide on the web.
