KSD Shanbhag Vidyalaya is a school located in Satara. It was established in the memory of Late Shri. Shamrao Dasapayya Shanbhag by his son Ramesh Shanbhag in the year 1990. The average strength of each class is around 45 (Pre-Primary & Primary : Three divisions for each class, Secondary : Two divisions for each class).All classrooms are Smart Classrooms (equipped with Digital teaching Aid). Contents
Academics
Covers the syllabus approved by the Maharashtra State Board. Classes are available till 10th std. Special facilities for Playgroup and Nursery students viz. a small garden with slides and swings are given.All festivals are explained and celebrated. The tiny tots are introduced to Swimming too.
Sports
This is the school where sports (physical and mental health) is given as much importance as academics. Students are allowed to choose any one of the following sport and are trained for it daily on the school campus:

Interested students are also trained in Indian Classical dance (Bharatanatyam) and Hindustani Music (Snging, Harmonium and Tabla)and Western dance.

The school owns four basketball courts, a boxing ring and a huge ground where all the field games are conducted daily.
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Over 30 competitions and celebrations are conducted every year such as handwriting competition, quiz competition, elocution competition, mask making, and kite flying. Almost all festivals from Ashadhi Ekadashi to Gudi Padwa are celebrated. The school has a spacious stage where the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities take place. Students are made aware of their social responsibilities through various activities like Fun Fair (amount generated is donated to a NGO), Tree Plantation, Cleanliness Drive.
Students are given Scout & Guide and MCC training too.
Each year the school provides a school calendar highlighting the events that are to be conducted during the school year.
Ojas eternal light of knowledge, the school magazine, showcases various reports, photographs and articles by the staff and students.
Sports
The inter-house tournaments of all sports is conducted in December each year.
Gathering
The school celebrates the Annual Social Gathering for three days in January. Past Students Meet is arranged during the same time.
