History

On 11/30/2012, 970am was sold to Immaculate Heart Radio's IHR Educational Broadcasting for $950,000. The call sign was changed from KNUU to KNIH on December 14, 2012.

Originally an affiliate with the CBS Radio network, KNIH was affiliated with ABC & CNN Radio news networks. The station originally went on the air in the mid-1970s, and broadcast all-news between 6 AM and Sunset every day. By the mid 1980s, the station received a permit to broadcast 24 hours a day.

As Business Talk

The station previously carried a business/talk format. Imus in the Morning started the Las Vegas morning drive time line up from 3am to 9am along with local news, traffic and weather with Andy Vierra. International and national news came from the ABC and CNN newscasts. Other featured personalities included Ray Lucia, Phil Grande, Don Imus, Rob Lemons and Andy Vierra. The station was sold to Immaculate Heart Radio on November 30, 2012.

KNIH was previously owned by the Blue Star Media Group Inc. The company owns the Business Talk Radio Network and the Lifestyle Talk Radio Network. The networks have more than 1,400 affiliates from coast to coast.
