Juno Beach Academy of Canadian Studies is an Alternative Program public high school in Calgary, Alberta. First housed in Van Horne School, then later in the old Lord Shaughnessy High School, it is now located in the Dr Norman Bethune School. The Calgary Board of Education runs the program as an alternative for students with a focus on humanities (such as police or military careers). Academics are also highly focused upon (for those most interested in attending college or University after graduation). There is a particular focus on Canadian studies. The graduating class of 2007, the first class to graduate, was given the opportunity to go to Europe. Here they visited many important landmarks, such as the Palace of Versaille, the Vimy Ridge Memorial, and Juno Beach in Normandy. Currently the next class to go to Europe will be the graduating 2012 class.
