In the spring of 1982 Elton John set out on tour to promote his latest album Jump Up!. The tour started in New Zealand and moved on to Australia. This was the first time Elton had performed in Australia since 1979. The tour then moved on to Europe and then North America before returning to the UK to end the tour that closed with sixteen consecutive performances at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.
