Italy 1989-1996

Velasco who guided the Italy men's national volleyball team to several successes in the 1990s. This period of time is golden coaching in volleyball and sport. In 1989, he was hired to coach the Italy. He immediately led them to a Gold Medal at the European Championships in 1989 the first champ in the history of Italian volleyball. Until 1996, when Velasco leaves the Azzurri bench, Italy collects three European Championship gold medals, two FIVB World Championships gold medalist and five victories in the World League, in addition to other minor trophies liked, FIVB World Grand Champions Cup, Mediterranean Games, FIVB World Cup and World Super Challenge. This change of the team was due to request of the people and country president of Argentina, and was approved by the Iranian volleyball confederation because of Iranians respect for their coach. He led the team to championship 2015 Pan American Games.
