Plot

The story of the anime follows high schooler Yuuji Itadori, who divides his time between being a part of his school’s Occult Club and visiting his bedridden grandfather at the hospital. His fairly normal life takes an ominous turn when he comes across an object that is cursed. After that point, there is no going back: Itadori is introduced to the Curse world. Here live atrocious beings made of human bitterness and animosity. He comes face to face with the danger that the Curses impose onto humanity. Now Itadori must tread the path that is surely now his destiny: that of a Jujutsu sorcerer.

Review

Poster of Jujutsu Kaisen featuring Yuji Itadori raising his hand with a mouth on it, with pink hair, and wearing a green jacket.

We’ll be straight up about this one: Jujutsu Kaisen has all the makings of the perfect shonen anime. Does it materialize this potential? Well, yes. The animation is fluid, and the character expressions are subtly perfect – this one is a treat to watch. Much like any other shonen show, it is replete with action scenes, and they are all well done. While the series does have a unique twist to it. the premise may remind well versed viewers of animes like Bleach. Nevertheless, it is still entirely gripping. This anime runs high on its humour quotient, so that is always a plus as well. If you are someone who watches anime, or even somebody who just likes an action filled plot, Jujustu Kaisen needs to be on your watchlist.
