How to book a ride through jugnoo autos app

Jugnoo is a hyperlocal on-demand multi-service provider based out of Chandigarh, which employs auto rickshaws as its logistic partners. It provides on-demand transportation and logistics services across 38 cities in India via their mobile application which can be downloaded on Android, iOS and Windows based phones. The service was started in Chandigarh in October, 2014 by Samar Singla along with Chinmay Agarwal, both alumni of IIT-Delhi.

Services

Jugnoo extends five kinds of services to its users on the app.The service is available on their mobile application and website.It can be availed by downloading Android (operating system), Apple iOS and Windows Mobile

Rides

This service allows users to take a ride on-demand in autorickshaw and cabs. It processes the request and sends it to nearby drivers. Drivers in-turn see it on their app and fulfil it. They are present in 38 cities across India

Grocery & Fresh

This is their On-demand delivery of Grocery, fresh fruits and vegetables to the users' doorsteps. Customers order by browsing for items that they need from categories.Jugnoo receive these orders and then deliver to customers.

Meals

This is an on demand delivery of homestyle meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) to doorstep. Their in-house chefs cooks a variety of meals for multiple preferences, and follow a daily rotating menu. This service is currently available in Chandigarh - Tricity,Jaipur & Guragaon

Menus

Jugnoo processes and sends orders directly to partner restaurants, which then deliver to their customers. Customers order food by entering their postcodes on the mobile application and browsing for food from a list of restaurants. They can create meals by browsing restaurant menus and selecting items they want to order before entering an address and proceeding to the checkout. Restaurants receive these orders and then deliver to customers. Jugnoo sends out an SMS to confirm orders and their estimated delivery time.

Pay

This is a UPI based payment option without wallets. It facilitates users to pay directly from their bank accounts. Linking the number registered with Jugnoo to your bank account is required.

Deliveries

In June, 2016, Jugnoo launched a separate B2B platform Jugnoo Business, extending its foray into B2B logistics segment to provide an omni channel, on-demand, hyper-local logistics. This service enables vendors to deliver products to their customers in 15 cities using Jugnoo's auto rickshaws.

How the app works

Once the app is installed in a user's phone, users can hail an auto rickshaw, order fruits & vegetables and meals through the app. The user can choose to either pay in cash or go cashless via wallets (Paytm, Mobikwik or Freecharge). The auto arrives at the required pick-up point and drops the user wherever required. On ride completion, a feedback is expected on the feedback form displayed on the app.

Acquisitions

In June, 2016, Jugnoo acquired Sabkuchfresh for an undisclosed amount and launched its hyperlocal grocery service Fatafat which delivers fruits and vegetables.

Yelo, BookMyCab and BistroOffers were acquired and later these services were discontinued.

Funding

Jugnoo raised $1 million seed funding from a series of angel investors in May, 2015. A month later, it raised $5 million Series A round from Alibaba-backed Paytm and SnowLeopard. Series B round of funding commenced in November, with $3 million. In January 2016, Jugnoo raised another $5.5 million and three months later, the company managed to raise another fresh round of $4.5 million funding, bringing the total to $10 million in Series-B tranches.
