Biography

Prentice was born on March 2, 1810 in Oriskany Falls, New York. He moved to Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin in 1844.

He was first married to Almira Woodruff. They would have two children before her death in July 1844. Four years later, Prentice married Olive Thompson, a Congregationalist from Riga, New York. They would have five children.

Career

Prentice represented the 10th District of the Senate in 1852 and the 22nd District in 1853. Additionally, he was an alderman of Watertown, Wisconsin, Surveyor of Dodge County, Wisconsin and a justice of the peace. He was a member of the Whig Party.
