Juan Diego Catholic High School is a private, Catholic school located in the Salt Lake City suburb of Draper. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City. Founded in 1999, it primarily serves the southern portion of the Salt Lake Valley. Situated upon 57 acres (230,000 m2) of former farmland, the school is part of a campus called the Skaggs Catholic Center which includes Saint John the Baptist Middle School, Saint John the Baptist Elementary School, and Guardian Angel Day Care, as well as being home to St. John the Baptist Parish.

At Juan Diego, 81% of students are Caucasian, 13% are of Hispanic heritage, 5% are of Asian heritage, and 1% are African-American. 29% of all students are non-Catholic, and 42% of students are low-income.

Athletics

13 of Juan Diego’s 19 sports teams have won at least one 2A or 3A state championship. The school currently holds 17 titles.

Football

The Juan Diego Soaring Eagle football team, coached by John Colosimo, has won four state championships in 3A football, in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016. It defeated rival Hurricane High School from 2008-2010 at Rice-Eccles Stadium and Delta at Cedar City in 2016.

Baseball

The Juan Diego Soaring Eagle baseball team, coached by Kellen Carsey, has the most athletic state championship wins, with a total of six, and twelve region championships.

Girls' soccer

The Soaring Eagle girls' soccer team, coached by Scott Platz and Mariah Fankhauser, has won two state championships in 3A, in 2009 and 2010.

Boys' soccer

The Soaring Eagle boys' soccer team, coached by Scott Platz won its first state championships in 3A, in late spring 2016.

Debate

The Juan Diego debate team has won six 3A state titles as of the 2015-2016 season, under the leadership of legendary Moses Baca, Tony Johnson, and Josh Clark (who left the team after the 2012-2013 season, and is the current coach of Montgomery Bell Academy). Moses Baca has been co-coach of the team for six years. The policy team is continually ranked in the top 25 team list, first in the state of Utah, and have qualified teams to the Tournament of Champions (TOC) for the past five years.

Some of Halloweentown High's interior scenes were filmed here. Many popular TV shows were also filmed here, such as Hunters Hallow and Everwood. The movie The Jerk Theory, starring Jenna Dewan-Tatum, was also filmed here. The Disney film The Luck of the Irish was also filmed here, and in surrounding Draper.
