History

The Fuxin Water-Warmth Appliances & Material Factory, in Nan'an, Fujian, was founded in 1988, selling to Chinese wholesalers. The company introduced the brand name Joyou in 1995, and in the early 2000s established a domestic distribution network for its products.

In 2007, by then known as Joyou, the company participated in the development of industry wide standards for plumbing fixtures in China. In 2008 it was one of the sponsors of the Beijing Olympics.

In 2010, Joyou made an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and raised €105 million in capital.

In early 2011, Grohe AG, which at that time held about 30% of the Joyou shares, launched a successful public takeover bid for Joyou AG. In 2013, Joyou’s major shareholders exchanged their holdings in Joyou for a stake in the Grohe Group; this brought Grohe’s total shareholdings in Joyou AG to more than 70%.

Products

Joyou produces manually operated wash-basin taps and shower mixers, as well as automatic basin faucets and flush valves for urinals and toilets. It also produces basins, urinals, toilets, bathtubs, as well as some bathroom cabinets and accessories. Its kitchen products include sinks and faucets. Joyou is considered a mid-market brand.
