Biography

Carroll started in journalism in the Arkansas National Guard. After returning to his civilian career in information technology, he volunteered to serve as public address announcer for the Pulaski Academy baseball team. His first professional job as a public address announcer came when he was hired by Arkansas Razorbacks football legend Rickey Williams to announce American football and basketball games. He was later hired by the Little Rock School District to announce high school American football, basketball, and track and field.

In 2015 Carroll was selected to replace RJ Hawk as the voice of the Arkansas–Little Rock Trojans men's basketball team. That same year the Trojans made it to the second round of the NCAA basketball tournament for only the second time in program history.

Carroll was named the voice of the Arkansas Travelers in 2016, taking up the reins from Russ McKinney.

Personal

Carroll grew up in Arkansas and joined the Army after graduating from Conway High School (Arkansas). While in the Army he held several positions including meteorologist, print journalist and broadcast journalist.
