Personal life
Born on December 21, 1978, Monkarsh attended Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, California where he studied stage production. After graduating in 1997, Monkarsh attended classes at AIU, where he majored in international business.
Film career
In 2002, Monkarsh started Traffic City Productions LLC, making his feature film debut, writing, producing and directing the coming of age drama; "The Highlife" which was awarded a Remi Award at the 36th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. 2004's "Subway Cafe" was driven by "Old School's" Rick Gonzalez. In 2006, Monkarsh acted as associate producer on the feature film; "I'll Be There With You" starring Daniel Baldwin. 2007's "The Devil Wears a Toupee", was added to MTV Networks (us) - interactive programming. Monkarsh's next film; "Fighter Pilot" aired on the Independent Film Channel’s Media Lab in October–December of 2007.
In the summer of 2008, Monkarsh wrote, produced and directed the sci-fi drama: "The Evolution of Ethan Baskin" starring "Dazed and Confused" lead Jason London. "Ethan Baskin" received a notice of acceptance into the 62nd annual Cannes Film Festival - Short Film Corner. Humbled by his acceptance into Cannes, Monkarsh concluded, “I suppose every filmmaker has dreams of making it big but my one consistent goal has been to simply tell a story while enlightening my audience.” In 2010, Monkarsh joined K. Asher Levin's "Cougars, Inc." as co-executive producer, starring James Belushi, Denise Richards and Sarah Hyland.
In 2011 Monkarsh partnered up with PalmStar Media for the development of several projects on their preexisting slate - while Monkarsh continues to develop and produce Intellectual Properties under his Traffic City Productions banner.
