Joseph Edward Nathan (1835–1912) was a New Zealand merchant, dairy manufacturer and exporter. He came to New Zealand as an immigrant from the United Kingdom. In the 1850s he founded Glaxo, a manufacturer of a dried milk baby food, in the town of Bunnythorpe. This business eventually became part of GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.
