Professional career

On October 2, 2010 Pinzón got revenge and a knockout over the only boxer to beat him Jaime Barboza, to win the WBC Youth World Light Middleweight Championship.

In his next José lost to Poland's Pawel Wolak on the undercard of the Donaire-Sidorenko fight, José took the fight on one week notice.
