Sacerdoti is also a trustee of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's United Kingdom branch, alongside Rabbi Marvin Hier - founder and dean of the original center, based in the United States. He also represents the Spanish and Portuguese Jews' Congregation on the Board of Deputies of British Jews and is a member of its International Division.
Jonathan sacerdoti
Career
After graduating in English Language and Literature from Balliol College, Oxford, Sacerdoti worked as a Development Producer for ITV between 2005 and 2006, and then at Shine TV until 2007. He then set up his own graphic design practice, Sacerdoti Creative Consultancy.
Sacerdoti briefly worked as Director of Public Affairs at the Zionist Federation in 2010 before working in 2011-2012 as a Director of the now-defunct Institute for Middle Eastern Democracy.
Sacerdoti joined Campaign Against Antisemitism as a spokesman in September 2014 and was later listed as Director of Communications prior to his appointment ending in August 2016.
Sacerdoti is now a journalist for Israeli channel i24news.
Controversy
On the 14th November 2012, the BBC interviewed Sacerdoti following the commencement of Operation Pillar of Defense.
A BBC investigation ensued, culminating in a decision to uphold the complaints, saying "Mr Sacerdoti was introduced as the Director of the Institute for Middle Eastern Democracy, and it was not made clear that he is an active proponent of the Israeli viewpoint." However, the outcome also found Sacerdoti's involvement on the BBC "in keeping with the requirements of due impartiality in such matters".
