Personal background

Ahdout was born in Santa Monica, California on March 18, 1989. His parents are Yahya Ahdout and Jacqueline Hayempour, Iranian Jews who left Iran to go to the U.S. with their baby daughter (J. Ahdout's older sister) in 1982. in Tehran, Iran. He grew up in New York City, and studied cinematography at the University of California, Santa Barbara. They went to Pakistan and then on to Israel. Ahdout resides in Brentwood with his parents, his sister Melody (born in Iran) and brother Daniel (born in California). He attended Sinai Akiba Academy and Harvard-Westlake School. He attended the University of Southern California (USC). He was double majoring in Business and Film.
Film work

Ahdout's acting career started with a role in the film House of Sand and Fog, in which he played the part of Esmail Behrani. In 2005, he played the part of Behrooz Araz in the television series 24. Coincidentally, he portrayed the son of a character played by Shohreh Aghdashloo in both roles. He has said in an interview that both of them were surprised to learn the other had been cast on 24. In 2007 he had a role as the shepherd in the TV show The Unit.
