Early life and career

Jon was raised in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, a small town in Northern New Jersey where he made home movies with Rick Hurvitz and Bruce Beresford-Redman while attending Pascack Hills High School.

Before pursuing a career as an actor/producer, Doscher owned and operated a service business and created and published several magazines.

Acting

In 2000, Doscher made his first move into film after seeking advice through correspondences with Jack Nicholson. Jon was accepted and trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City.

Shortly thereafter, Jon's friend and actor Danny Aiello, advised him to leave Strasberg and begin auditioning. He was then cast in the film This Thing of Ours, starring James Caan. Soon after, he was cast in other independent films and co-starred in the off-Broadway production, Rain Delay.

Jon then produced and co-starred in the feature film, Remedy, along with Frank Vincent, Vincent Pastore and Ace Frehley, with music by Oscar Nominated Actor, Danny Aiello.

Producing

In 2008 Doscher wrote, produced, and directed two documentaries: 4CHOSEN: The Documentary narrated by Montel Williams which was awarded Best Documentary at the Garden State Film Festival and Harry...A communication breakdown (film) narrated by Danny Aiello.

Jon Doscher and Starline Films produced a film loosely based on the history of the Atwood-Blauvelt mansion, in Oradell, New Jersey. The Blauvelt Mansion, as it is commonly known, was built between 1896 and 1897, and is considered the grandest example of shingle style architecture in Bergen County, NJ. The film is dedicated to philanthropic endeavors and is aligned with the Blauvelt- Demarest Foundation, the official charitable organization for the Bluefield movie project. This is the organization which operates the Hiram Blauvelt Museum, also located on the same property of the Blauvelt Mansion.

Jon directed the film and hopes to bring awareness to the plight of the Blauvelt Mansion, and ultimately secure the mansion a nomination to the State and National Registers of Historic Places, as its future is uncertain.
