John Tielli and The Metal Kites - "Metal Boys" at Sappyfest
John Tielli is a Canadian musician based in Montreal. He is a current member of the Hydrothermal Vents and formerly of Metal Kites and CLARK the band. He was also a member of People from Earth and Rock Plaza Central, as was his brother Doug Tielli. Tielli is also a brother to musician Martin Tielli. John plays theremin on volume one of Martin's 2009 album, The Ghost of Danny Gross.

Metal Kites
Tielli's group, Metal Kites, began in 2007 after Tielli relocated from Ottawa to Toronto. A video for their song, "Rabbit in the Hat", was released in late 2009 on YouTube. Their first album, School of Unlearning, was released through Bandcamp in October 2011. Musicians appearing on the album include Tielli, Magali Meagher of Phonemes, Daniela Gesundheit and Dan Goldman of Snowblink, Andrew Barker of Bruce Peninsula, Doug Tielli of The Silt, Coralie Martens, Casey McGlynn and Erika Werry.
