John Robert Lawrence Allen, FRS, FSA (born 25 October 1932) is a British geologist, and professor emeritus at Reading University.

Honours

Allen was awarded the Lyell Medal of the Geological Society of London in 1980, and the Penrose Medal of the Geological Society of America in 1996. He was elected a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London (FSA) on 21 November 1991.
