TOO MUCH by John Perreault
Background

Perreault was born in Manhattan, New York to a French-Canadian father and was raised in Belmar, New Jersey. He wrote for the Village Voice and the Soho News. In his criticism, Perreault championed new art of all kinds: from Minimalism and Earth Art to realist painting; from Pattern Painting to Performance Art. As a young poet, he began as a critic by writing short reviews for ArtNews, graduated to articles and then as a freelancer went on to write for more publications.
He was President of the American Section of the International Association of Art Critics. He was a Trustee of the Tiffany Foundation and maintained an art blog called Artopia. Perreault died at the age of 78 on September 6, 2015 in Manhattan, New York from complications from gastrointestinal surgery.
